At its heart, this system demands binary states. A proposition is either true or false, never both. This principle excludes contradictions within a valid argument. Deductive reasoning follows strict paths. If the premises are true, the conclusion cannot be false. Logic treats language like a code. Mathematicians analyze these codes as objects with properties like soundness and completeness. Philosophers watch how they mirror human thought. The intersection of these fields creates a unique discipline. Reasoning becomes an epistemic activity, a mental process studied alongside mathematics.
